Transfers from Newark Airport
Newark Airport, New York's second-busiest airport by traffic, sits across the Hudson River in New Jersey, about 26 km southwest of Manhattan.

Taxi from Newark
- A taxi offers a comfortable, direct ride to your hotel. However, it’s not the most budget-friendly option, especially if you’re traveling alone or as a couple.
- Expect to pay $50–$75 for a ride from Newark Airport to Manhattan. Important: avoid unofficial taxis and hustlers. Use only the official taxi line at the airport to ensure a safe, reliable trip.
Shuttle Service
- Shuttles used to offer good value—cheaper than a taxi and nearly as convenient, with drop-off at your hotel. Since the pandemic, however, this service has become unreliable. Shuttles are infrequent and require long waits at the airport before departure.
- Due to consistent complaints, we no longer offer shuttle bookings. Too many problems. On top of that, shuttle prices have risen so much they now match private car services, which are far more dependable and efficient.
Bus from Newark
- Olympia Airport Express runs buses between Newark Airport and Grand Central Terminal. From there, you’ll need to transfer to another bus or the subway to reach your hotel.
- The bus is economical but less comfortable, as it requires one or more transfers. Hauling luggage through New York’s streets between connections can be inconvenient.
AirTrain and Subway
An affordable and fairly comfortable option. A train connects Newark Airport to Penn Station (34th Street/7th Avenue). From there, many subway lines can take you to your hotel.
Private Car from Newark to New York
- For maximum comfort, book a limousine transfer. Your driver meets you at arrivals and, for just a few dollars more than a taxi, you travel in a premium vehicle.
- To make your arrival easier, you can book your transfer in advance from Newark Airport to your Manhattan hotel. You can also book your return transfer in advance from your hotel to the airport.
