Transfers from JFK Airport
Opened in 1948, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK Airport) is located in Queens, east of Manhattan. The airport is approximately 30 km from the heart of Manhattan.

Taxi from JFK Airport
- Taxis offer comfort but aren’t the most budget-friendly option. Important: use only licensed yellow cabs with a visible medallion on the hood. Stay in the official taxi line and avoid unofficial drivers who may approach you—they charge much more.
- As of 2023, the fixed rate is $70 from JFK to Manhattan, plus tolls and tip (15%).
Shuttle Service
- Before the pandemic, shuttles were a good middle ground between comfort and cost. The shared van would drop off each passenger at their hotel.
- Since then, service quality has declined significantly, and we don’t recommend it. Prices have risen so much that they now match private car transfers—but with far worse service.
AirTrain and Subway from JFK Airport
- A train connects JFK Airport to New York’s subway system.
- This is the most budget-friendly option, but it may not be ideal if you have lots of luggage, are traveling with children, or arrive late in the evening (remember that 6 pm in New York is midnight for you if you’re coming from Europe).
Private Car from JFK Airport
- This is the most comfortable way to arrive in New York. Your driver meets you at the airport and takes you straight to your destination. It’s a luxury that’s surprisingly affordable.
- You can book your transfer in advance from LaGuardia Airport to your Manhattan hotel. You can also book your return transfer in advance from your hotel to the airport.
