1/ What is the New York City Pass?

2/ What does the New York City Pass include?

The New York City Pass covers the top attractions and museums to see on a first visit to New York. Starting September 1, 2026, the City Pass lets you choose 5 attractions from a list of 10 options. Here’s what’s available:

  • The Empire State Building observation deck, with an audio guide and museum access. A bonus: the City Pass lets you go up twice in one day to see the views by day and night. This double visit is unique to this pass.
  • The Top of the Rock observation deck.
  • The Edge observation deck.
  • Ferry ticket and entry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, including access to the museums on both islands.
  • A Circle Line cruise. Choose from the Landmarks Cruise, Liberty Midtown Cruise, or Liberty Super Express.
  • Entry to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
  • Entry to the American Museum of Natural History, including the Space Show at the planetarium.
  • Entry to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
  • Entry to the Guggenheim Museum.
  • Entry to the Whitney Museum of American Art.

3/ How does it work in practice?

  • Once you purchase your pass on the New York City Pass page, you’ll receive a voucher to print or display on your phone.
  • Your voucher includes a unique QR code—your personal pass. Simply show this QR code at the ticket counter of each attraction to enter. Easy.

4/ What does a New York City Pass look like?

  • Until 2019, the New York City Pass was a small booklet with detachable coupons for each attraction. That’s changed: the City Pass now comes as a simple QR code that you can display on your phone or print on paper, whichever you prefer.

5/ Does the New York City Pass include skip-the-line access?

  • Beyond saving money, the New York City Pass lets you reserve your entry date and time for most attractions, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. No waiting in line.

6/ Do I need to buy a pass for each person?

  • The New York City Pass is personal to each visitor. If you’re traveling with others, you’ll need to buy one pass per person. If there are two of you, you’ll save nearly $80.

8/ How long is a New York City Pass valid?

  • Your voucher is valid for one year from the purchase date on the reservation page. If you’ve already set your travel dates, buy your New York City Pass as soon as possible to avoid the two annual price increases in January and spring.
  • Once in New York, your pass is valid for 9 days from your first use. If you arrive September 1 and make your first visit September 2, you have until September 10 to complete all your visits.

9/ Is there a required order for the visits?

  • No. You organize your visits whenever you want and visit the museums and attractions in any order and at any time. Choose whether to start with the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, or any museum. You’re in control.

10/ Can I buy the New York City Pass only in euros?

  • If you’re in Switzerland, you can book your New York City Pass in Swiss francs. If you’re in Canada, you can buy in Canadian dollars.
