Why Visit American Dream Outlet?

  • The massive American Dream shopping mall opened in October 2019 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This is a colossal project: the mall spans 3 million square meters (32 million square feet) and cost $5 billion to build. The concept is unique: 55% of the space is dedicated to entertainment and dining, while 45% is retail.
  • American Dream is home to Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, an amusement park featuring Nickelodeon characters and attractions, including rides themed around SpongeBob SquarePants. You’ll find roller coasters and gentler rides for younger visitors. The mall also has an NHL-regulation ice skating rink.
  • Since November 2019, American Dream has housed North America’s largest indoor water park, the DreamWorks Water Park. Created by DreamWorks Studios, the makers of Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda, this space is spectacular. The complex also features an indoor ski slope and an observation wheel similar to the London Eye. Since 2021, the mall has also added an SEA LIFE aquarium!
  • Don’t miss the Tilt Museum. This museum features 3D environments designed to create optical illusions. Bring your camera!
  • Shopping is a major draw here. Stores began opening in March 2020, and there are real deals to be found. Since American Dream is located in New Jersey, you’ll benefit from lower sales tax than in New York: 3.5% on most items and 0% on clothing.
