Shared Shuttle Information

  • As of January 1, 2024, we have suspended all shared shuttle reservations between Manhattan and New York airports. Here’s why:
  • Service quality has declined. Several travelers have had to find alternative transportation at the last minute due to shuttle unavailability.
  • Prices have more than doubled since the pandemic. Shared shuttles now cost the same as private car services, which maintain excellent quality. At shared shuttle prices, you’re better off booking a private car transfer between Manhattan and New York airports.

What is a shared shuttle transfer?

  • A shared shuttle is a van service that transports passengers between Manhattan hotels and New York airports. Note: this service currently operates until 8 pm, seven days a week, and only serves JFK airport.
  • The shuttle is “shared” because each van holds up to 11 passengers with luggage. The van picks up each passenger at their hotel. Pickups are organized by neighborhood to save time. Each shuttle serves only one airport: JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark.

How to book a shared shuttle to the airport

  • Before your New York trip, or a few days before your return, reserve your transfer through our shared shuttle booking system. Select your transfer date, number of passengers, and departure airport. Once you’ve paid, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a voucher to print.
  • At least 24 hours before your flight, call the phone number on your voucher to confirm your transfer. You’ll need to provide your confirmation number and flight time. Give a time earlier than your actual flight to allow for traffic delays. Your hotel concierge or front desk staff can make this call for you—this is common in New York and usually done for a small tip.
  • On departure day, wait outside your hotel entrance with your luggage about 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. When the shuttle arrives, give the driver your printed voucher. The trip to the airport typically takes 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.
  • The price includes the transfer and taxes. Plan to tip the driver $2–3 per person based on your satisfaction.
