Men in Black: New York welcomes the aliens!
Men in Black immerses you in the daily operations of a government agency tasked with monitoring the extraterrestrial population on Earth. A sensitive mission!

The story of Men in Black
- Released in 1997, Men in Black follows an unofficial government agency tasked with monitoring extraterrestrial activity on Earth. Aliens have been living among us for ages—you just didn’t know it. The Men in Black keep watch over them all, with one mission: stay invisible so Earth’s population never finds out.
- The film brings together Will Smith (Agent J) and Tommy Lee Jones (Agent K) in an unforgettable pairing. Agent K is preparing for retirement and must train his replacement: a rebellious NYPD officer. The newcomer has to learn fast, especially when a particularly nasty alien decides to strike.
- As trivia goes, the film could have taken a different path: the role of K was offered to Clint Eastwood, who turned it down.
New York in Men in Black
- Watching Men in Black always hits differently now. The 1997 film features extensive views of the World Trade Center Twin Towers, destroyed in the September 11, 2001 attacks. One long scene shows an alien arrest in Liberty State Park, New Jersey, with the Twin Towers on the horizon.
- Early in the film, you’ll see the calm atmosphere of Battery Park. This is where Will Smith contemplates his new mission, with the Statue of Liberty in the background.
- Men in Black repurposes the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel Ventilation Building for a different use. Instead of ventilating the tunnel connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn, the film presents it as the secret headquarters of the MiB. The address: 504 Battery Place, just north of Battery Park.
- The action also takes you to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. You’ll learn that the observation towers built for the 1964 World’s Fair are actually a clever cover for hidden flying saucers. The Unisphere sculpture takes some damage in the process. After Men in Black, you’ll never see New York the same way again!
