The story of Maybe Happy Ending

• The musical takes you to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, at the end of the 21st century. Robots have made considerable progress, but the march of progress has left Oliver and Claire, two old-generation robots, behind. Oliver and Claire are now obsolete and live in their tiny apartment, isolated from the rest of society.
• One day, Claire knocks on Oliver’s door to borrow a charger. Oliver is suspicious and not particularly welcoming: as a Helperbot-5 robot, he doesn’t really appreciate the Helperbot-6 generation of robots to which Claire belongs. Yet, as Claire’s battery runs down, a spark ignites in Oliver!
• The musical Maybe Happy Ending launched on Broadway in October 2024 and is one of the great revelations of recent years. The various productions have received numerous awards, including the prestigious Richard Rodgers Award given to the Best Musical in 2017.
• The story was adapted for film in 2023, under the title My Favorite Love Story. And immediately acclaimed by critics!
