- Operation Mincemeat was a covert operation run by British intelligence services in 1943. The goal: deceive German intelligence into believing the planned invasion of Sicily would actually take place in Sardinia and the Balkans instead.
- MI5 agents orchestrated the leak of fake invasion plans with remarkable ingenuity, ensuring the German high command would mobilize its troops accordingly. A wildly successful operation! The German army transferred several divisions previously stationed in Sicily, clearing the way for the Allied invasion.
