New York City Night Helicopter Tour from New Jersey

A new helicopter company based in New Jersey offers sunset and night helicopter tour over New York City. A unique and exceptional tour!

What you need to know about the New York City Night Helicopter Tour

  • Until recently, it was still impossible for tourists to fly over New York by helicopter at night. The Manhattan heliport closes at 6:30 p.m., and in the evenings, only a few private helicopters still fly over New York.
  • But now, a new company based in New Jersey is offering sunset flights at night. Night flights are organized on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 7pm to 10pm. If you’d like to experience a sunset flight over New York, find out what time the sun sets on the day of your flight and book early, as flights fill up fast!
  • Flights depart from Linden Heliport in New Jersey, next to the New York Bay. You’ll need to take a train from Penn Station and allow around 35 minutes to get to Linden (the round-trip fare is $17 and is not included in the price of the flight). A shuttle will then take you from Linden Station to the heliport. Present your voucher and passport, and off you go!
  • The helicopter flies over Newark airport and sets course for the Statue of Liberty. You’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline. Instead of flying up the Hudson River, the helicopter will fly over the East River, over the Brooklyn Bridge, over the Manhattan Bridge and down to 42nd Street, with the Chrysler Building and the UN beneath you.
  • The helicopter will then cut across Manhattan from east to west, flying over Central Park. An absolutely unique experience! You’ll then fly down the Hudson River towards the Financial District, finally landing at Linden. Total flight time: approx. 25 minutes.
