When to see fall foliage in New York?
Here's what you need to know to experience the spectacular fall colors in New York!

When to see fall colors in New York
- Autumn brings a special magic to New York: the trees transform from deep green to brilliant red and gold. This spectacular display lasts only a few weeks, roughly mid-October through mid-November, depending on how mild or cold the weather has been.
- Start with a walk through Central Park, New York’s largest park. Head along The Lake and cross the Bow Bridge for stunning views of the park in fall colors, with the Upper West Side skyline in the background.
- Stroll down The Mall, a grand tree-lined avenue leading to Bethesda Fountain, then climb up to Belvedere Castle for panoramic views over the northern part of Central Park.

Where to see fall colors in New York
- Central Park isn’t the only place where fall colors shine. Further south in Midtown, Bryant Park also transforms with autumn hues, offering views of the Empire State Building.
- Don’t miss Greenwich Village: its quiet streets have a different character, with trees suddenly turning orange.
- Head to Brooklyn to explore Prospect Park, the city’s other major park.
