I tested for you… the stairs of the Vessel in New York
Opened in March 2019 in New York, the Vessel is a strange construction halfway between a work of art and an observation point... Patricia tested it for you! Here's her story, photos and a video of the Vessel.

I’ll be honest: at first, I was very reluctant about climbing 154 flights of stairs and roughly 2,500 steps up the Vessel, the striking art structure that opened in the heart of Hudson Yards in New York. I’d only planned to explore the neighborhood and hadn’t booked a ticket.
But then something changed. Standing at the base of the Vessel, I felt the pull immediately. The strange spiral shape fascinated me, and the copper structure gleamed in the sunlight. I had to go up.
I walked straight to the ticket window. Admission is free, and since I arrived early, I got a ticket for immediate entry. The doors opened.
“It’s magnificent, magical!”
Inside, I stood amazed for a few minutes. I spotted the elevator I’d been hoping for, but the maze of staircases drew me like a magnet. Every section, every flight was a discovery. I climbed, descended, played with the light and the openings, taking in views of the surrounding buildings and the Hudson River in the distance. And there—the tip of the Empire State Building rising above the skyline. Magnificent, magical!
Water, boats on the Hudson, the rail yard, helicopters circling overhead—it all unfolded before me. I felt like I was on a carousel. Each level offered a different view, unique and enchanting. By the time I reached the top, I’d climbed with ease…
I spent two hours there, but I could easily have stayed for two more. You know what? I just want to go back!
