What you need to know about New York’s cheapest helicopter tour
The New York helicopter tour you can book through our reservation system is the most affordable on the market. When you simulate your booking, you’ll see the current price for a 12 to 15 minute flight over New York. You won’t find it cheaper anywhere.
Here’s the catch to getting this low price: your flight departs from Kearny Heliport in New Jersey, not from Downtown Manhattan. It takes a bit longer to reach the heliport, but you’ll save nearly $50 per person compared to a flight from Manhattan.
The 15-minute flight follows the classic route: you’ll fly over the Statue of Liberty and the Financial District. You’ll get stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, with One World Trade Center dominating the landscape.
You can reach Kearny Heliport on your own. Here’s how: take the PATH train from World Trade Center toward Newark and get off at Journal Square station. Head to the bus stop at Journal Square Transportation Center and take bus #1 to the stop at Central Ave 574’N of Hackensack Avenue. The heliport is a 10-minute walk away at 165 Western Road. Allow about an hour from World Trade Center. You can also get there by taxi or Uber.
Note that since November 2023, heliport taxes are slightly higher in New Jersey than in New York: you must add $50 in heliport taxes per person, whereas in New York you’ll pay $40 per person, also charged on site.
Another advantage of flying from New Jersey: flights operate every day, including Sunday. This is no longer possible from Manhattan, as the city has banned tourist helicopter flights from Manhattan on Sundays.
Book your New York helicopter tour from New Jersey
You’ll receive your confirmation and voucher to present on site as soon as payment is processed. We keep a copy of your voucher and can help if there’s an issue, such as if you accidentally delete it.
Once you’ve booked, call the phone number on your voucher at least 72 hours before your flight to confirm your departure time. On the day of your flight, remember that each passenger must bring a valid ID.
Heads up: because this is the cheapest tour on the market, it fills up fast and many time slots and dates will be unavailable. We recommend booking your tour as early as possible.
Good to know: children occupying a seat pay the full price regardless of age or weight. However, a reduced rate applies for babies aged 0 to 1 year traveling on a parent’s lap.
