Shopping: New York sales dates in 2026

New York is a shopping paradise. You’ll find an incredible variety of stores for every style and budget. And to make the most of it, don’t miss the sales! Prices drop dramatically during these periods.
Here’s the New York sales calendar for 2026, month by month. You’ll notice something different from many other places: unlike some countries with sales twice a year, New York has sales throughout the year. Plan your trip to coincide with one of the dates below:

Sales in January 2026

• Through early January 2026: End of winter sales after the holiday season.

Sales in February 2026

• February 14–15, 2025: Sales weekend around President’s Day.

Sales in May 2026

• May 23–25, 2026: Sales weekend around Memorial Day.

Sales in July and August 2026

• July 4, 2026: Sales for Independence Day. July 4 in New York marks the start of summer sales, which continue in the following days depending on each store.
• Last week of July 2026: Back-to-school sales. These days focus especially on children’s items, but there are deals for the whole family, particularly in clothing stores.

Sales in September 2026

• September 1, 2026: Sales around Labor Day.

Sales in October 2026

• October 13, 2025: Sales around Columbus Day.

November 2026: The biggest sales month in New York

• November 25, 2026: Sales the day before Thanksgiving. These shopping days are mainly a chance to scout ahead for Black Friday. You don’t have to buy before Thanksgiving unless you find something you love and worry it will sell out. If you can wait, come back on Friday—the price may drop even further!
  
• November 27, 2026: Black Friday. Black Friday sales are the biggest of the year! Discounts are unlike anything you’ll find the rest of the year. Learn more on the Black Friday in New York page.
• November 30, 2026: Cyber Monday. This day focuses on electronics and technology. Check online offers—Cyber Monday is primarily an online shopping event. 😉

Sales in December 2026

• From December 26, 2026: Post-Holiday Sales continue through early January. Stores clear out unsold Christmas inventory.

Which stores participate in sales?

• Store participation varies by date—it depends on each store’s inventory and policies. That said, major department stores in New York and clothing boutiques in New York participate regularly, including Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Century 21, Zara, and Gap.
• The same goes for outlet stores outside the city. During sales, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, the largest outlet near New York, cuts prices even further than usual. If you want to refresh your wardrobe, time your visit to coincide with a sales day or weekend!
