2/ Christmas Masses at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is New York’s most iconic place to celebrate Christmas. This Roman Catholic cathedral offers 3 Masses for Christmas:

  • December 24, 2026 at 5:30 pm: Family Christmas Mass. Admission is free, but arrive well in advance.
  • December 25, 2026 at midnight: Midnight Mass. Admission requires free tickets reserved in advance. Unfortunately, all tickets for this time have been distributed. You cannot attend without a ticket.
  • December 25, 2026: Masses at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10:15 am, noon, 1 pm, and 5:30 pm. Admission is free.

3/ Christmas Masses at Cathedral of Saint John the Divine

Located in Morningside Heights, near Columbia University, the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine is the seat of the Diocese of New York. Here’s the Christmas schedule:

  • December 24, 2026 from 10:30 pm to 11:55 pm: Christmas Mass celebrated by the Bishop of New York. An organ concert runs from 10 pm to 10:30 pm, and arriving very early is recommended. You can reserve free seating by contacting the office by email or phone at +1 212-316-7490.
  • December 25, 2026 from 10:30 am to noon: Mass with the cathedral choir.

4/ Christmas Masses at Trinity Church

You’ll spot this small church when you visit the Financial District. Trinity Church sits at the end of Wall Street, in the shadow of the neighborhood’s office towers. For Christmas, 4 Masses are scheduled:

  • December 24, 2026 at 3 pm: Family Mass.
  • December 24, 2026 at 6 pm: Mass with choir.
  • December 25, 2026 at midnight: Midnight Mass. Admission is free, but arrive early.
  • December 25, 2026 at 11:15 am: Nativity Mass.
