What is the best weather website for New York?

AccuWeather: New York’s most accurate weather forecast

• What will the weather be like in New York tomorrow and in the days ahead? You’ll probably ask yourself this question often during your visit. Knowing the forecast matters: it helps you decide whether to spend the day exploring outdoors or to plan indoor activities like museums and shopping instead.
• During my last trip to New York, I tested the major weather websites. The most reliable by far was AccuWeather, the American forecasting service. The predictions are constantly refined and have proven accurate for the next three days—plenty of time to plan your itinerary.

AccuWeather’s history

• Founded in 1962, AccuWeather is a private company that has grown significantly in recent years. It acquired WeatherData in 2006 and launched its own television channel, AccuWeather Channel, in 2015 as a direct competitor to the Weather Channel. AccuWeather also supplies weather data to numerous radio stations, including 10-10 Wins in New York, and to more than 180,000 websites worldwide.
• Other sites? I found their forecasts either overly optimistic or too vague to be useful. The same held true for other major weather services—their predictions simply weren’t as accurate as AccuWeather’s.
• Keep in mind that New York’s weather changes rapidly due to the Atlantic Ocean’s influence. Beyond 48 hours, forecasts become much less reliable.
