Update, March 20, 2025: Kellogg’s Bar has permanently closed.

If cereal is your breakfast of choice, here’s a New York spot worth adding to your itinerary. On July 4, 2016, Kellogg’s opened the city’s first cereal bar on Times Square. The address: 1600 Broadway, between 48th Street and 49th Street.
But this wasn’t just about selling the same boxes you’d find in any supermarket. Kellogg’s NYC offered creative cereal recipes developed by pastry chef Christina Tosi. You could order dishes like her “Pistachio Lemon”—cereal served with milk, pistachios, lemon zest, and thyme.

Surprises in every bowl!

You could customize recipes by choosing from about a dozen optional toppings. Cereal bowls cost around $6 to $8 depending on what you ordered, and each one contained a small surprise inside—just like the prizes in cereal boxes. A fun throwback to childhood.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Kellogg’s hoped to boost cereal sales this way, after the category saw an 8% decline between 2010 and 2015.
