About Ocean Odissey
- Ocean Odissey was a large-scale exhibition created by National Geographic. As the name suggests, it took visitors on a journey through the world’s oceans, from the South Pacific to the California coast. “All without getting wet,” the organizers noted.
- The exhibition opened in October 2017 at the National Geographic Encounter, just steps away from Times Square.
- The exhibition was open daily throughout 2018. Take a deep breath and dive in!
What to See at Ocean Odissey
- A 3D film let you swim alongside sea lions, then pose next to a life-size humpback whale replica—over 15 meters (49 ft) long.
- Interactive screens provided information about the wildlife and ecosystems of different oceans.
- You could explore a recreation of the ocean floor and discover the species living there. The more adventurous could venture into the kelp forest.
