What to Know About the FRIENDS Experience in New York

  • The FRIENDS Experience is an exhibition dedicated entirely to the Friends TV series in New York. Step into the world of this show created in 1994 through meticulously recreated sets from the series.
  • Created by producer Warner Bros. and entertainment specialist Superfly X, the museum opened in March 2021 in the Gramercy neighborhood. It was an instant success! Originally planned as a temporary exhibition, it has been extended month after month and is expected to continue for a long time.
  • In October 2023, the death of actor Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing, renewed interest in both the series and the exhibition. A heartfelt tribute to the actor is featured throughout.
  • Before your visit, watch or rewatch a few episodes to get in the mood. The exhibition is packed with references and callbacks. Meet Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross!

What to See at the FRIENDS Experience

  • From the street, you can’t miss the Central Perk sign, the iconic café from the series. Step inside and enter the world of Friends! The museum spans 2 floors and showcases the entire Friends universe, complete with original costumes and props. You’ll see Chandler’s famous ties, among other things.
  • The museum is designed above all for you to take unique selfies in the different sets from the series. You can sit on the iconic orange couch and soak in the Central Perk atmosphere. Keep in mind, though, that the real Central Perk is located in Los Angeles. You’ll find it at the Warner Bros. studios.
  • You can walk through Rachel and Monica’s kitchen, then pose on Joey and Chandler’s couch. Don’t miss the chance to dress up as a turkey for Thanksgiving or recreate the epic moment of moving a couch up the stairs. But I won’t spoil the rest!
  • At the end of your visit, you can shop at the exhibition store. You’ll find a selection of products and gadgets featuring the series, including the must-have Central Perk coffee mugs. Oh my Gawd!

Reviews of the FRIENDS Experience New York

  • Esther M.: “Absolutely worth doing! Whether you’re a fan or not, my husband and daughter loved it even though they only came to keep me company. The staff is wonderful! They take photos that are sent to you free by email afterward. If it’s not too crowded, they’ll even take photos with your own camera. Fun, great service, and smiles guaranteed! Go for it.”
  • Perrine G.: “Go, it’s amazing! You can take photos in the sets, and the staff is lovely. A must for true fans.”
  • Marie-Line W.: “It’s one of the best memories from the trip. Since then, watching the series has a different flavor, especially if you’re a fan. The people are kind and you have time to see everything and take your own photos. You can even have a coffee at Central Perk.”
  • Alexandra R.-B.: “I approve! For devoted fans, you have to go! It’s not cheap, but it’s absolutely worth it!”
  • Doan T.: “An incredible immersive experience in the sets from the series with many iconic costumes worn in the episodes. Six photos in the series’ most famous locations, including the legendary orange Central Perk couch, are included in the price and sent to you by email. You can grab a coffee or hot chocolate at Central Perk with a nice souvenir plastic cup. Only the souvenir shop, which is quite pricey and not well-stocked, is a bit disappointing. I was there with my wife and two of my daughters who are huge fans, and we had tears in our eyes many times, especially when we entered Monica and Rachel’s apartment with a real failed English trifle in the kitchen, looking incredibly authentic. We spent about 1.5 hours there that will stay with us forever! Thank you NYC! So Friends fans, go for it—you won’t be disappointed!!!!”
