A second adaptation followed in 2013 by Baz Luhrmann, with Leonardo DiCaprio. Now comes a brand new live version on the Broadway stage. A grand spectacle that plunges you into 1920s America and Jazz Age New York. The backdrop: Prohibition, bootlegging, and the rise of jazz.

The Story of The Great Gatsby

• The musical faithfully follows Fitzgerald’s novel. The story is told from the perspective of Nick Carraway, a young man from the Midwest who moves to New York to work as a stockbroker. Nick settles in a residential neighborhood on Long Island, not far from East Egg, a trendy area in the 1920s. There he meets his neighbor, Jay Gatsby, a powerful and eccentric millionaire—but also deeply mysterious. Nick becomes fascinated by the man!
• Gatsby has made a name for himself in New York with his lavish parties at his mansion. But while the man has succeeded professionally, his love life is far less brilliant. Gatsby desperately tries to win back Daisy Buchanan, an old flame—who happens to be Nick’s distant cousin.
• The Great Gatsby made its Broadway debut in March 2024. A highly anticipated show in New York! The production was a huge success at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, earning its place on Broadway. The same cast members are reprising their roles. Jeremy Jordan plays Jay Gatsby while Eva Noblezada plays Daisy Buchanan. The show runs 2 hours and 30 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
