The Story of Buena Vista Social Club
- The musical tells the story of the Buena Vista Social Club, the legendary Cuban musical group. The group was founded in 1996 by Nick Gold and Ry Cooder, taking the name of a mythical nightclub in Havana from the 1930s. The success was global! The group performed around the world until 2015, the date of its farewell tour.
- The Broadway musical brings to life the group’s greatest hits, including the unmissable “Chan Chan”. The first album, recorded in 1996, was awarded a Grammy Awards, the highest distinction in the music world in the United States.
- The Broadway show was designed with the help of several group members, including guitarists and singers Juan de Marcos González and Eliades Ochoa as well as guitarist Barbarito Torres. Not to mention the group’s iconic singer, Omara Portuondo. The stage will propel you into Old Havana to the sound of salsa!
