What is the Christmas carriage ride?

  • Year-round, you can book the classic carriage ride through Central Park. From late November through early January, there’s a special option: a 45-minute tour to see the Christmas lights. This unique experience lets you experience the magic of Christmas in New York.
  • The tour runs only in the evening through the Midtown tourist district, departing from the south end of Central Park. Your confirmation will include the exact meeting point and all practical details. You’ll meet your driver and horse, then the carriage heads toward Fifth Avenue, the most brilliantly lit avenue in New York during the holiday season.
  • The carriage passes through Grand Army Plaza and moves slowly past Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the window displays of major department stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Tiffany. From December 2, 2026 through January 9, 2027, you’ll see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, New York’s largest.
  • Tip: the carriage is reserved for you and your group alone. If you speak English, your driver can share commentary and answer your questions.
