Booking Ticket for a New York Liberty game

Since 1997, New York has had its own women’s basketball team: the New York Liberty. The team was one of the eight founding franchises of the WNBA in 1997, North America’s professional women’s basketball league. The WNBA has grown over the years and now includes 13 teams split across two conferences.
The New York squad is far from a minor player. The New York Liberty won its first WNBA championship in 2024 and has reached the Eastern Conference Finals four times: in 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2002. An impressive record for such a dynamic young team.
Since spring 2026, the New York team signed French player Pauline Astier, beating out interest from several other American franchises. The 24-year-old from Tarbes has been making waves in New York. French-speaking fans will certainly enjoy cheering her name from the stands. Go Pauline!
The New York Liberty plays at the impressive Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It’s the same arena as the men’s Brooklyn Nets. Game nights create an electric atmosphere, with energy both on the court and in the stands.
As a fun fact, French player Emilie Gomis wore a New York Liberty jersey in 2006 while also playing for the French national team.
