A poetic outdoor festival of lights inspired by China
Luminocity features a unique outdoor walk through art and lights. Wandering across a pink mushrooms fields or between multicolored ice crystals leaves the visitor in a dreamy state of mind. Inspired by the festival of lights from Zigong in China, 7000 lanterns are lit with the Manhattan skyline as a background. This festival introduces an eastern tradition popular in China. Indeed each of the 7000 lanterns has been produced by local artisans from Zigong to create a jungle of lights. Plants, trees and magical animals pop throughout those fantastic light sculptures. Ancient civilsations, zodiac symbols and the little Lumi, host of the show, are paving your way. The variety of references brings relevance for adults and children at the same time. Imagination

A holiday activity COVID compliant in New York City
This year, going out during the holiday season seems more complicated than ever. The usual holiday picks from New Yorkers do not feel like Christmas anymore. The fear of crowded sidewalks, the lines in front of stores, and the rise of the infection rate can be overwhelming. With that being said, there are some options that are COVID compliant and still in the spirit of the holidays. This year Luminocity checks many of those boxes. First of all, you get to book in advance your tickets for a specific time slot. The walk through the light sculptures follows a one-direction only path. At Luminocity, social distancing is required and respected by masked visitors. After your tour, enjoy a dinner with a view from a handful of selected foodtrucks. The Thai one was delicious. Tables are disinfected between each customer. Personally, I enjoyed the holidays spirit while still seeing safety rules be respected.
