A new neighbor for the Empire State building

A new tower over 200 meters high will be built a few blocks from the Empire State building.

Year after year, New York is still booming! While new towers bloom in Midtown and the Financial District, here is a new project a few blocks from the Empire State building.
Located at 12 East 37th Street, this new tower reach 213 meters, half as high as the Empire State Building, which is located on 5th Avenue between 34th Street and 33rd Street. The new tower won’t hide the view from the Empire State building observatory but this newcomer will not go unnoticed!

The new tower will be reserved for residential use, with 65 high-end apartments. The project, unnamed for now, is also unique because the tower will welcome 5 hanging gardens placed at regular intervals between floors. An outdoor cinema will also be built, as well as a gym and an infinity pool.
The building was designed by Perkins & Will Architects, which has not yet to its credit notable accomplishments in New York. The construction will start in 2017!
